Tape and CD

Having your information as an audio tape or CD is one of the most important things you can do if you're serious about getting your message across. It is certainly one of the most popular format for people with learning difficulties.

Many people still don't think producing audio versions of information is important, but this may be because it can seem scary if you've never done it before. There are usually two reasons why information providers don't make an audio version - they don't feel they can do it themselves, and they can't afford to pay a professional.

How to do it

Many of the organisations we've listed in the links section, whose job it is to make information easier, can make audio versions of your information for you.

If you want to give it a go yourself, you can get hold of some recording equipment, or go to a local recording studio to record your information. You can find recording studios in the Yellow Pages. They will charge you by the hour, including any time that they might take to edit your information.

Check out the Audio guide from the Information For All guides for some tips on making a good audio recording.
