Making information easier to understand for people with learning difficulties is about more than making your text size bigger and putting some symbols or pictures in your document.

It's about working with people your information is for, finding out together how you can make the information useful and accessible for them. It's about thinking about how we all make sense of information. There are no quick answers, and it isn't easy... but it can be fun.

There are so many people across the country who are working to make information better - people with learning difficulties, speech and language therapists, other professionals - and even more people who want to start to make their information better.

We want this website to bring people together. We want it to be a source of good quality advice for those new to the area. We want it to be a place where people with expertise and ideas can talk, argue, share and learn.

Lots of people have been involved in getting this website so far, and we hope many more people will be involved in building it up.
